On April 5, 2016, Abbot of Lingyin Temple Ven. Guangquan chaired a team leaders’ meeting for the 2016 Buddhist Scripture Debate at the temple. Those who attended the meeting included Master Yuanci and Master Miaojie from Education and Training Department of the Buddhist Association of China, and other team leaders from eight Buddhist academies. At the meeting, Ven. Guangquan explained the significance, theme, and topic of the debate, and put forward the requirements. The team leaders then had a full discussion on the procedure, rules and topic of the 2016 Buddhist Scripture Debate.

Buddhism advocates great kindness and great compassion to all. The topic of the 2016 Buddhist Scripture Debate is about the Buddhist value of benevolence. The debated will be held from May 15 to 20 at Hangzhou Buddhist Academy.
