May 31st, 2014—The Jogye Order of South Korean Buddhism’s former president, Senior Master Xu Yixuan, Abbot Master Faji of Fengjing Temple, along with a delegation of more than 20 from their Korean Buddhist temple, arrived at Hangzhou’s Lingyin Temple, where they were met with a warm reception from the president of Hangzhou’s Buddhist Association, Abbot Master Guangquan.
Master Guangquan shared the history of Lingyin Temple and recounted his own profound experiences with South Korean Buddhism. Senior Master Xu Yixuan and Master Faji graciously invited Master Guangquan to visit South Korea’s Jogye Order when he has the chance once again, and strengthen the exchanges between the Buddhist communities of South Korea and China, for the development of the two countries’ Buddhist communities. Master Guangquan, on behalf of Lingyin Temple bestowed gifts to the visiting delegation and posed for photographs.
