In September 2014, "Cultural China – Expert Forum" was co-organized in Europe by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and China Overseas Exchange Association. A team of more than 20 renowned experts, of which Lingyin Buddhist masters led by Venerable Abbot Guangquan served as the major force, gave speeches on Chinese Buddhist culture in France, Germany and Austria to pass on the essence of Buddhist culture to European citizens.

On September 13, Venerable Master Guangquan, the Chairman of the Buddhist Association of Hangzhou and Abbot of Lingyin Temple, delivered a speech titled "Chan Buddhism and Life" at France Overseas Chinese Association Cultural Center ---- Fo Guang Shan Fahua Temple in Paris, which certainly brought a feast of culture to overseas Chinese and Buddhist followers there.

On September 15, Venerable Master Guangquan hosted Yunlin Tea Party in the theme of "Chan Buddhism and Life" in Vienna Fo Guang Shan, Austria. At the tea party, the broad and profound Chinese Buddhist culture was manifested by the art of Chan tea, guqin performance, pipa performance, and Tai Chi Kung Fu. The tea party indeed demonstrated a dialogue about life between Chan Buddhism and tea.

On September 18, Master Huicheng of Lingyin Temple lectured on "Noble Eightfold Path", and shared his answers to the questions of "how to be", "how to behave", "how to be kind" and "how to cherish merits".

Wherever the team went, Yunlin Tea Party in the theme of "Oneness of Chan and Tea" was organized to show the audience the art of making Fajing Chan tea, Da Hong Pao tea and Tie Guan Yin tea. With the background music of guqin and pipa, the audience fully felt the solemn yet elegant Chinese tea culture by tasting tea as well as exquisite Lingyin vegetarian snacks.

"Cultural China – Expert Forum" is an important part of the Cultural China Series organized by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. A number of renowned Chinese experts and scholars have been invited abroad to give speeches on Chinese classics at the forum since 2007. Such a cultural series meets the demands of overseas Chinese for Chinese culture and thus enjoys a high reputation and significant influence among the overseas Chinese community.
