On April 1, 2015, the national delegation for the chairmen of commerce chambers paid a visit to Hangzhou, organized by China Business Times and Zhejiang Provincial Chamber of Commerce. Some 100 delegates visited the ancient Lingyin Temple, where they enjoyed Buddhist vegetarian meals, learned the philosophy of Chan and listened to the instructions of Ven. Guangquan, Abbot of Lingyin Temple, on the Buddhist culture.
By elaborating how Buddhist culture integrated with Chinese traditional culture in different dynasties, Ven. Guangquan introduced the Buddhist practices and propagations of several well-known founding masters and venerable Buddhists, including Master Xuanzang and Master Huiyuan. Furthermore, Venerable Guangquan cited latest scientific and technological developments as examples to expound certain abstract concepts, such as the Buddhist view of space, which aroused keen interest of the attendees.
