On July 3 to 5, 2015, the first group of over 50 Buddhist disciples returned to Lingyin Temple and undertook the eight precepts. The activity lasted for three days, during which modern communication devices and entertainment tools were not allowed so that everyone could put aside mundane affairs and experience the inner peace of the cultivator.

During the three-day activity, the Buddhist disciples earnestly learned the Buddhist rituals of dining, worshipping Buddha and ordainment under the guidance of Buddhist masters. They attended morning and evening classes with Buddhist masters of the Sangha to experience the life in Buddhist temples with tolling bells and beating in the morning and evening. They also worked outdoors, chanting and hand copying sutras to experience the meaning of Buddhism and the tradition of placing equal emphasis on both Buddhism studies and self-sustaining agricultural production, as illustrated in the saying "a day without work is a day without food". In the atmosphere of Buddhist solemnness, they undertook the eight precepts and gained great benefits.

On the morning of July 5, Ven. Abbot Guangquan addressed the Buddhist disciples and lectured on the Noble Eightfold Path, the righteousness of Buddhism. He encouraged them to wholeheartedly work hard on the pursuit of Buddhism for self-interest and altruism so as to benefit the community and the country. In final, Ven. Guangquan expressed his best wishes in cultivation and goals, and a group photo was taken to commemorate this event.
